Privacy policy

This policy covers the website praydy.com and the Praydy app (app.praydy.com). As of 26 October 2026. The German version is the legally binding one.

Legal bases

We process personal data only on the basis of the applicable law (GDPR, Austrian Data Protection Act, TKG 2021). The legal bases are performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), your consent (point (a)), legal obligations (point (c)) and our legitimate interest in secure operation (point (f)).

Website praydy.com

The information site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Your language choice is stored only in your browser. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited), which transmits your IP address to Google. The web server keeps access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for at most 14 days to fend off attacks and to find errors.

The Praydy app

Account: to use the app you create an account with an e-mail address; we send a confirmation link (double opt-in) and store your e-mail address, the time of confirmation and your settings (language, tradition, music presets). Prayers: your personal concern is sent to the AI service only to create the prayer, is not stored there and is not kept by us permanently; only prayers you explicitly save are stored. Checks: every prayer text is checked by two independent AI models for age-appropriate language and content before it is shown. Audio versions: for reading aloud and singing, the checked prayer text is sent to the respective audio service; the generated file is stored linked to your account.

Processors and recipients

Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen, Germany (servers in Germany). AI services for texts, checks, translations and reading aloud: Noirdoc (access to language models through a European interface). Singing: ElevenLabs Inc., USA (transfer of the checked prayer text; EU standard contractual clauses). Payments: PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg; card payments also run through the PayPal checkout. E-mail delivery: Hetzner Online GmbH. Contracts under Art. 28 GDPR or equivalent safeguards are in place with all providers; data is never passed on for advertising.

Payments and donations

When you buy song credits, payment details are entered directly with PayPal (PayPal account or credit card in the PayPal checkout); we receive no card data, only a confirmation, the amount, the currency and a transaction identifier. We keep these records for seven years under tax law. Voluntary donations to the association also run through PayPal under its privacy terms.

Retention

Account data and saved prayers are kept as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in the app at any time; this deletes the account, saved prayers and audio versions, except for purchase records we must keep by law. Cached audio files expire after 30 days, access logs after 14 days.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection; consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time. In the app you can export your data and delete your account. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
